March 30, 2014 - NEWS and new card

Hello all my friends.  I have the most exciting new for you all.  Well it is exciting to me and I think you will understand why.   In fact, I am "over the moon excited".  :-)   Back in December, I had a post about my being invited to be a Design Team member with My-Besties Aussie DT group.  I was a little apprehensive about accepting, because I had seen all the wonderful creations coming out of the DT's and since  I feel we are all out worst critics, so I wasn't sure about accepting.  After much discusion and questions, I said yes I would give it a try.  Well I have absolutely enjoyed being on the Aussie Bestie DT and so enjoyed making new friends.  I am having a wonderful time being on that DT and hope that I will be there for a long long time.  LOL   With that being said.....guess what.......a few weeks ago I was invited to be on Sherri Baldy's Original My Besties DT and since I knew how much fun I had on the Aussie team, I didn't even hesitate this time.  LOL  I said yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!  That got a chuckle for sure.  I am very excited about making more new friends and sharing my creations with all of you for the Besties DT.

Our challenge this months was "SPRING FLING".   Now I don't know about you, but I am really ready for Spring to make its appearance and then hang around for a while.  LOL  I cannot believe it is so stinkin cold and I live in the South!!!!!

Here is my card for the Spring Fling Challenge:

I absolutely love this My Bestie Image.  She is called RoseBud and how appropriate is that. To find this image click  HERE  When I first started thinking of what I was going to do for this challenge, I thought ok think spring and yellow and green came to me.  As I was coloring and came to her flowers, I thought well lets put a little splash of pink in the mixture too.  So that is what I did and I am very pleased with the yellow, green and pink theme to celebrate spring, if it will ever get here.

March 23 - Using Ribbon -My Bestie Aussie DT Challenge

Hey Everyone, well this has been a very stressful time for my family, as my husband's mother passed away  on March 20 and it has been a sad time for us all.  I had my image colored, so all I had to do was design the card layout and put it together which was such a blessing to me in two ways, one the image was colored, and two, it took my mind of off things while I was working on finishing it.

As I said, the challenge this month for the My Bestie Aussie DT is using ribbon.  Let me give you some advice (LOL) do NOT buy ribbons that are not the same on both sides when you want to make a big bow.  I found this beautiful purple ribbon that was glittery and thought ohhhh that is exactly what I want to use and I do love the way it finally turned out.  However.  making a bow with this ribbon was a challenge in itself.  Trying to twist the ribbon to make sure the glitter side was always showing took me forever to do.  I kid you not when I tell you it took me a good hour or more with many restarts to get the ribbon tied correctly.  It usually takes me a couple of minutes or less to do a ribbon.  Sooooo no more ribbon for me that design or glitter is only on one side.  LOL

I was pleased with how the card turned out and I hope that you all like it too.

This cute image is a Sherri Baldy image and is called Banna Pie Pom Pom Girl and can be found HERE.
I absolutely adore her as I of course do all the My Besties images.  LOL  It is so hard for me to pick a favorite.

Image was colored with Distressed Ink Markers and papers were  from some of my on hand stash.
Flowers are my favorites of all - Wild Orchid

I hope that you will join all of the DT members and enter our challenge this month using ribbon.  You can join our challenge by clicking HERE

March 9, 2014 - Aussie DT Challenge Tag with Flowers

Hello from warm sunny Florida.  We have certainly enjoyed our time with friends and soaking up this beautiful sun.  Our time is quickly passing by and we will soon be headed back to our home state.  Looking forward to seeing all my friends and especially my crafty friends.  :-)  Can't wait for our week-end get a way at  Scrapbook Creations.  :-)

So our DT challenge this time was make a Tag with Flowers.  I have to say that this was a real challenge for me and a real stretch.  LOL  When I think of how many years I have been stamping and coloring, I can probably count on may 3 or 4 fingers the times I have colored a "boy" image.  But I thought this Bestie image was the cutest thing and after all baseball is just around the corner, so I decided to color him.  So this is for all of you who are baseball fans.....me not so much, but who can resist such a cute fellow.  :-)  If you love this little fellow like I do you can find him HERE   This is My Bestie IMG 211.
