FEBRUARY 1, 2016 - Bestie Aussie Challenge

Well another good morning.  Yep another post on a different monthly challenge.  Today begins our My Bestie Aussie design team challenge. Our challenge this month is called Valentines + the use of Hearts.  We have some lovely designs from our design team so I hope you all will take the time to go see them.

I used an image this time that is close to Sherri's heart.  Well all her designs are close to Sherri's heart as all her sweet and beautiful drawings definitely come from her heart.  She has one of the biggest ones of anyone I know.  When her granddaughter was born she created an entire collection and called them Blakley.  This sweet image is called Blakley's Heart.  You can find this image by clicking HERE

This was so fun to color and design the card.  I used copics, papers from LOV,  lots of heart dies.  I do believe this is the first ever card I have designed without using flowers and lace.  As I was putting it together, I just felt it didn't need any, so I elected to not use any.  LOL   I absolutely love this sweet image and love using non traditional Valentine colors.  This would not only make a great Valentine card, but a great birthday card for a special friend or for a sweet daughter.  Sherri has so many more awesome images.  Be sure and click on the link above and check them out.

We would love for you to join us in our monthly challenge and if chosen, you can win some sweet images.  .  You can enter your lovely creations by clicking HERE

Thank you again for visiting my blog and would ask that you please leave comments.  They are truly appreciated.  Thanks bunches.

Blessings and Happy Coloriing

Good Monday morning everyone.  Wow, can you believe we are already beginning our second month of the new year.  Time certainly does fly, doesn't.

Welcome to my blog and our new Besties International Challenge.  This month our challenge is called Love is iin the AIR-Valentines theme, using reds, pinks, hearts, and/or lace.  I have chosen the Sherri's beautiful image 949 and you can find it by clicking HERE

This would make a perfect card for your Valentine.  :-)

As you can tell I do believe I used all of the theme suggestions.  LOL
I colored her with Copics and used background papers from my stash.  Flowers and pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I believe the heart die border is from Joy Crafts.   Lace is from JoAnn Crafts.

I really did enjoying coloring this sweet image and would like to invite you all to join us in our monthly challenge at My Bestie International Challenge blog.  You can enter your lovely creations by clicking HERE .

Thank you for stopping by and I would appreciate your leaving your comments.  They are so appreciated.

January 1, 2016 Bestie International Challenge

Happy New Year my friends and welcome to our very first My Besties International Challenge for 2016.  There will be many many more to come throughout the year, but this is the beginning of a new year and new beginning for us all.  Did anyone make any New Year's resolutions?  I stopped that practice years ago, but I am beginning the New Year once again with a grateful heart regarding all the blessings I have been given and looking forward to a wonderful new year.  I plan to continue to stay on my "healthy" journey.  This past year I was able to stay the course and I reached a goal that my Dr. set for me, losing 85 lbs, completely off  all insulin and my diabetic pills, and was able to mark an item off my bucket list.  What you say.....well I walked my very first 5K ever.  Not too shabby for a 71 year old gal.  So thankful and grateful to be where I am in my life.  Looking forward to more awesome "firsts" and changes to come for the better.

OK, so lets get on with the awesome challenge for this month called Color My World - Lots of Color.  Well I think my card certainly lived up to the challenge, cause there are lots of colors used.  I chose one of Sherri Baldy's 3D Images this time.  When Sherri first came out with these, I was afraid to try them, thinking I could never do all that cutting.  Well I bit the bullet a couple years ago, pulled out my scissors, then decided I liked cutting them out better with an xacto knife.  So the rest is history.  After my first one, I absolutely fell in love.  I love the 3D look on the cards.  So many dimensions.  You can find the image in Sherri Baldy's Etsy shop and can see it by clicking HERE

This is my card for the challenge:

Here is a side view so you can see the layers on the image.

I absolutely love the layered dimensions of the card.  So much fun.

Supplies used:
Sherri Baldy's 3D Image
Bazzill Cardstock
Lace from joAnns Fabrics
Flowers from Wild Orchid
Miscl papers I had on hand
Spellbinders scalloped Oval Die
Butterflys from AC Moore Crafts
Sentiment from Stampin Up

I truly hope you all will consider joining us in our challenge for this month.  It is a fun one and I can't wait to see all the beautiful creations you will use with all the color you want to add.

Please go to our blog and see all the rest of the design team's creations, and don't be shy, add one of your own to the challenge.  You can see the DT cards and enter your own by clicking HERE

Thanks again for stopping by.  Hope you all enjoyed my card and want to wish you all a very Happy New Year and may abundant blessings come your way during the new year.

January 1, 2016, Aussie Besties Challenge

Happy New Year everyone. Hope everyone had a wonderful new year's eve and looking forward to seeing what 2016 brings us all.  Wishing you all a very prosperous 2016 filled with lots of love, joy, and blessings.

Today starts a brand new year as well as a brand new challenge with the Aussie Besties DT Challenge. It is called Anything Goes + Flowers.  This should be a challenge that appeals to a lot of you, as we all like to do our own thing a lot of times, so anything goes is a great way to start the new year.  Plus I think most of us use a lot of flowers, so anything goes plus flowers is an exciting challenge.  I have used one of Sherri Baldy's My Bestie digis and you can find this image in her Etsy store by clicking HERE

Here is my take on the challenge.

I decided to use my one my favorite color combinations, purple and green and since flowers was a requirement, I certainly took advantage and used a lot of those.

Supplies Used:
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Butterflies - AC Moore
Prima Doily Die
Miscl papers plus Sherri Baldy Papers
Watercolor paper for Image
Distressed Inks

This image is one of Sherri's newer ones.  I loved her when she came out and just had to color her to use for this challenge.

I hope you will join us in this first challenge of the New Year.  You can see all the other DT's creations on our challenge blog and you can enter your own there too.  To do that, click HERE

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my card this month.  I would so appreciate if you would leave comments, I truly truly appreciate each and everyone.

August 17, 2015 - My Besties International Design Team "Anything Goes" Challenge

Good Monday morning my friends.  Today is the beginning of our new challenge of Anything Goes on the My Besties International Design team.  I have two different cards to share with you this time.  Both are from Sherri Baldy's new release on August 15.

The first image was one that Sherri designed from a photo of herself when she was in a wedding several years ago.  It is ohhhhh so cute.  I just had to color this one and wanted to make if a very "delicate" and "girly" card in honor of our amazing Sherri Baldy.  :-)  I hope you all like it.  You can find the image by clicking HERE

For this card, I started the design by using some of Sherri's beautiful new papers.  They just seemed to match the colors I was using for the image perfectly.

She was colored using Prismacolor Premier pencils.  I colored lightly as I wanted a delicate watercolor.  The die is from Memory Box, the laces from JoAnn's, and the beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

My next card is such a sweet image and I decided to do something a little different.  You can find this image in Sherri's Etsy shop by clicking HERE

I colored her hair, skin, slippers, and santa's list with Copics.  But remember I told you I did something a little different?  Well I printed the image on some snowflake paper and then cut it out and paper pieced the dress and hair bow to the image I had colored.  Then added some really cute Christmas papers, die from Memory Box, Lace from JoAnns, and again flowers and white swirls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Hey it's not too early to start on your Christmas cards or your Christmas list.  :-)

I hope that you have enjoyed checking out two of Sherri's new releases and also hope that you will create one of your own cards to enter in our challenge this month to win some of Sherri's amazing digi images.   You see all the DT's cards for this challenge and also  enter the challenge by clicking HERE

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you will come again and I also would love for you to leave comments.  They are truly appreciated.

Blessings and Happy Stamping to all!!!!

July 20, 2015 Challenge #15 - Anything Goes

Good monday morning everyone.  Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying a little cool.  Has it been hot in your part of the country.  We have had some pretty hot days here in South Carolina.  I cannot believe that it is almost the end of July.  The time is flying by for sure.

Welcome to our brand new challenge for July.  Anything Goes.  This definitely leaves you a world of possibilities.  I have used the cutest image this time.  Well to me they are all cute and I so enjoy coloring them.  This one is a brand new release of Sherri Baldy's amazing My Besties.  You can purchase her by clicking HERE

This image just makes me smile and I love her sunny look.  I hope you like her.

I used Tim Holtz Distressed Reinkers to color her.  I love the watercolor look and really like the Distressed reinkers.  You can also use the Distressed Pads or the Distressed Markers.  Either of these are fine.

Would love for you join us in our Challenge at My Besties International Design .  Remember it is Anything Goes this time.  So get those creative juices going and color one of Sherri's images.  You can join us in the challenge or just go and see all the other DT cards and entries by clicking HERE

Thank you for stopping by.  Please feel free to leave comments, they are so appreciated.

Happy Stamping and Blessings,
Pat

April 1, 2015 - My Bestie Aussie Challenge 4

Hello everyone  and Happy April Fool's day.  Hope you all have had a great day and no one has played any April Fool's jokes on you.  It has been great here in sunny warmy Florida and no jokes anywhere thank goodness.

Today is the beginning of a new challenge for the My Bestie Aussie Design Team.  This month's challenge is using one of Sherri Baldy' My Bestie images and incorporating Spring, Flowers, Bunnies, and Eggs.  You can use just one or two or all of these things in your design.

I have chosen another 3D Deco image for my challenge card this month.  She is called Fancy Pants 74 3D Sheet and you can find her at Scrapbook Stamp Society in Sherri's shop by clicking HERE

Here is the front view of my card

Side View to see layers

I just loved this image and all the layers that are involved it making it stand out.  I used cardstock that I had on hand and was amazed at how well it all went together.  Used Spellbinders die and butterflies are from another company that I cannot for the life of me remember.  When and if I can find the source, I will come back and edit the post.  Of course the beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, my favorite of all flowers.  The leaf flourish is a memory box die.

Sure hope you like the card and that you will join us in our challenge.  Please click on the link I am posting to go the our challenge blog and look at all the lovely cards that the rest of the design team created.  You can visit the blog by clicking HERE

Thanks again for visiting my blog and please leave a comment.  I truly appreciate each and everyone of them.

Happy stamping and blessings,
Pat
