Happy Monday everyone. Well we have had an absolutely beautiful week of sunny and warm weather and I sure hope it is like that wherever you are located.
Today is the day for our new Aussie DT challenge and as you can see from the title above, it is Anything But A Square Card. So once again the ole thinking cap went on and I decided to pull out my large Spellbinder dies and use them for an easel card. I am ashamed to say these dies have been under my cutting table for several years (ever since I purchased a Grand Calibur) and I had not used them yet. So this was a good excuse to pull them out. :-) But guess what......I used the 3 smallest die in the set and
my trusty electric Big Shot that was already on my cutting table cut them beautifully. LOL
For this challenge, I chose Sherri Baldy's image called Viola Violet. I love this image.....well truth be known.....I love all of Sherri Baldy's images. :-) If you like her as much as I do and wish to purchase her, you can find her by clicking HERE
Here is my card when it is closed.
Now tell me, don't you just love this cute imge???
Here is the card when it is opened.
When I first saw this image, I immediately knew I wanted to use Red and Blue for the card. So I went to my trusty paper stash and came up with exactly what I wanted. That rarely happens. Even with all the paper I have on hand, and believe me I have way too much, I seem to always be going to the craft store and picking up more to add to my stash. LOL
I have to admit something here......I am NOT a baseball fan, however when I saw this image I had to have it. She has such a "sassy" look about her with her stance and I thought, yeppers she is my kinda gal. :-) I really should have made this card for my BFF Suzanne J. Dean 'cause she is one of the biggest baseball fans I know and as she pointed out to me today, I chose the Nat's colors and I shouldn't tell my hubby, because he is a big die hard Braves fan. LOL
Not being a "sports" fan, I have no sentiments that were appropriate for this, so I sat down at the computer and thought of some sayings that would be cute with this image. So I typed them all up in Word and then went searching on the internet and found some clip art that I inserted below the saying. I thought it worked out good. The one I finally used is not the one I originally thought I would use, but it is so appropriate, because I feel this way about my sweet hubby of 49 years. He IS my home run!!!!!!

Ohhhh and did you notice, for once in my life, I did NOT use flowers. Well flowers just didn't seem like they would work here. LOL
