March 30, 2015 - My Besties International DT Challenge #7

Good Monday morning everyone and welcome to our new My Besties International  DT Challenge using Bunnies/Eggs.  Well this is certainly a very appropriate challenge since Easter is just around the corner.

I have chosen another 3D deco image from Sherri Baldys beautiful images.  This one is called 3D Bunny Girl and you can find her in Sherri's Etsy Shop by clicking HERE

I have absolutely fallen in love with the 3D sheets and had a great time designing this card around the image.  I have also fallen in love with creating easel cards.  I just love they way they look and the added area that I can embelish the area that shows when the card is standing up.  So without further ado, here is my creation with this precious sheet.

Front view standing up:

And here is a side view so that you can see the 3D layers:

This card has 5 cut layers of various parts of the image.  Normally I would not cut out the base part of the image.  I usually just use a die cut to frame the original image and then cut the other layers out, which usually consist of about 4 layers.  But I had this absolutely beautiful piece of paper that had a doily look surrounded by flowers and I knew that I was going to have to incorporate it somehow in this challenge.  Sooooo then I kept looking at it trying to figure out what I was going to do and the a light bulb went off and I said ok I know, I will also cut it out too.  Oh my, I didn't know what I was getting myself into, as there are a ton of flowers and leaves around the doily.  But I took out my trusty x-acto knife and my glass mat went to town.  it was not the easiest thing I have ever cut, but I was soooooo pleased when I finally got it done So I mounted Ms. 3D Bunny Girl in the center and thought ok I love the look, but it still needs some depth, so I pulled out some of my beautiful Wild Orchid Flowers and did groups of 3 around the doily, leaving spaces between so you could see the paper flower images in between the wild orchid flowers.  This piece of paper was in a set that I received and is by Anna Zaprizelska, It is called Just Love Me.

The design papers are from Lili of the Valley.
Pink beaded swirls from AC Moore
Lace is from JoAnns Fabrics

I so hope that you like my card and that you will consider entering our challenge this month.  I would invite you to visit our Challenge Blog and see all the other lovely creations our very talented Design Team menbers have created.  And while you are there, why don't you enter a card of your own.  We would love to have you join us.  You can get to our blog by clicking HERE

March 2, 2015 - My Besties International Challenge #5

Good Monday morning everyone.  Hope you all had a great week-end and ready to jump in and join us in our new challenge for this month.  We have a great challenge called 3D or 3 Layers with Option of  Using Buttons.  Well if you have been following me lately, you know that I have a big love of Sherri Baldy's 3D Deco Sheets, so this fit perfectly for me.  And I think the image I chose was right on spot.  LOL  Yep I chose her 3D image called Betsy Button....well that was appropriate, right?  You can find this beautiful 3D sheet by clicking HERE

I absolutely love this sheet.  Here is my card and take on the challenge for this month.

I decided to do an easel card to showcase this image.  And of course I had to add a lots of embellishments.

Here is a side view showing a little of how the card is layered.

And another side view from the other directions.

The papers used were from my stash.  Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
Spellbinder dies for the easel and the ovals.

I really hope that you all will join us in our great challenge this month.  You can find out the details and also join us by posting a picture of your beautiful creation by going to our blog by clicking HERE

March 1, 2015 - My Besties Aussie Challenge #3

Hi Everyone and welcome to my blog and our My Besties Aussie Challenge #3 - Tic Tac Toe/Color Inspiration.

We were given a beautiful color pallet to use this month along with a Tic Tac Toe chart.  I chose a horizontal Tic Tac Toe using Glitter, Swirls, and Flowers.  Well I even threw in a little lace for extra.  :-)  I was also really really happy to see purple in this pallet as purple is probably my favorite color.  Well maybe I need to say that purple IS my favorite color.  LOL  All my friends know if anything comes in purple, then I want it.

I used one of Sherri Baldy's sweet My Besties which I got in her Etsy Shop.  You can find this sweet gal by clicking HERE     This is one of the precious images that Sherri has created in honor of her new granddaughter, Blakely Ann.  Don'tcha just love her?   I know I do.

Here is my take on the color pallet and Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I used Copics to color this image.  I have been using pencils and inks for a long time, but decided I needed to get back to my Copics.  :-)  And I tried to do better this time and write down each color as I was using it.  I know when I visit a blog and I love the colors I always want to know....what did you use????   LOL
