May 1, 2016 - My Besties International Challenge - Anything Goes All About Flowers

Good Morning and Happy May 1st everyone.  Hoping this new month brings lots of blessings and joy your way.  

Well I have to say one of the greatest joys of my life is coloring and for this challenge I chose one of Sherri Baldy's My Bestie Digis that certainly put a great big smile on my face and brought me joy.  You just can't help but smile when you see her.  I'm sure most all of us did this as a child.  :-)  Anyway the Image # is 193 and can be found in Sherri's Etsy shop by clicking HERE

This is my take on the challenge.  

This was so much fun to color.  I used Copic markers, but also went over some of the coloring and enhanced the image with my colored pencils.  If you haven't tried this, I highly recommend it.  

Flowers are from Wild Orchard Crafts and Sherri Baldy's beautiful flowers.  Papers are some I had on hand.

April 19, 2016 - New Bestie Release

Good morning to all.  I have a quick post today as it is the release day of a new cutie pie My Bestie and I wanted to share my card with you.  

This is an addition to the Sweets Shoppe Besties from Sherri Ann Baldy.  She doesn't have a name, so I just call her Cutie Pie.  LOL   She is IMG120 and you can find her by clicking HERE

One of my favorite color combos are purples and Aqua, so this is what I chose to color this image.  I colored her with Copics and will list them below.

Good morning everyone and Happy April Fool's day.  We here in the United States celebrate April 1, by pulling practical jokes on friends.  Do you celebrate this too!!!!  :-)

Well its time for our Aussie DT Challenge with the theme of Anything Goes.  I love an Anything Goes challenge as it gives you creativity to do your own thing for sure.  I chose the cutest Sherri Baldy image of a praying little girl  She is Img 875 and you can find her in Sherri's Etsy shop by clicking HERE     I absolutely love this image.

April 1, 2016 - My Bestie International April Challenge

Good Morning and Happy April Fool's day.  Just wondering......we here in the United States celebrate April 1 by pulling practical jokes on others.  If you live in other parts of the world, do you celebrate this way.  Would love to hear your comments about this.  :-)

Today we started a new challenge on the My Besties International Design team using circles.  I chose one of Sherri Baldy's beautiful 3D Printable images again and cut her out 3 times to layer and give her a 3D look.  You can find this cute printable by clicking HERE

March 1, 2016 - Anything But a Card Challenge

Good morning my friends and welcome back to my blog.  Our challenge for My Besties International is Anything But a Card.  Well that leaves things wide open, doesn't it.  I kept thinking what can I do and went to my local craft shop and started walking the aisles.  Yep, I bet you have done that too to get a little inspiration.  Welllllll I came across some of the cutest "plaques" that I felt would work well with the 3D Printable image I was using  from Sherri Baldy's My Besties "Fluffy" line.  Yep we "fluffy" gals now have some absolutely adorable printable and digital images with us in mind.  Thank you Sherri.   

The Image I am using is called Beach Babes.  It comes in digital as well as the printable I used.  You can find this image by clicking HERE

I found this cute plaque at AC Moore and altered it a bit.  I cut a piece of burlap paper to make an area of "sand" to sit the beach babes on, then added real mini shells and starfish.  The big shell was in a pack of shells I also purchased at AC Moore.  The aqua burlap butterfly and flowers came from a stash that I've had for a while and I'm not sure where I got them.  The wording Beach Memories was already on the plaque.  

I printed several copies of  Beach Babes and cut various pieces out and layered on top of each other to make a 3D look.  All in all, I was very pleased with the way this came out.  I have it sitting on my counter in our motorhome right now, but will hang on a wall in my home when we get back.  :-)

FEBRUARY 1, 2016 - Bestie Aussie Challenge

Well another good morning.  Yep another post on a different monthly challenge.  Today begins our My Bestie Aussie design team challenge. Our challenge this month is called Valentines + the use of Hearts.  We have some lovely designs from our design team so I hope you all will take the time to go see them.  

I used an image this time that is close to Sherri's heart.  Well all her designs are close to Sherri's heart as all her sweet and beautiful drawings definitely come from her heart.  She has one of the biggest ones of anyone I know.  When her granddaughter was born she created an entire collection and called them Blakley.  This sweet image is called Blakley's Heart.  You can find this image by clicking HERE

This was so fun to color and design the card.  I used copics, papers from LOV,  lots of heart dies.  I do believe this is the first ever card I have designed without using flowers and lace.  As I was putting it together, I just felt it didn't need any, so I elected to not use any.  LOL   I absolutely love this sweet image and love using non traditional Valentine colors.  This would not only make a great Valentine card, but a great birthday card for a special friend or for a sweet daughter.  Sherri has so many more awesome images.  Be sure and click on the link above and check them out.

February 1, 2016 - Besties International Challenge

Good Monday morning everyone.  Wow, can you believe we are already beginning our second month of the new year.  Time certainly does fly, doesn't.

Welcome to my blog and our new Besties International Challenge.  This month our challenge is called Love is iin the AIR-Valentines theme, using reds, pinks, hearts, and/or lace.  I have chosen the Sherri's beautiful image 949 and you can find it by clicking HERE

This would make a perfect card for your Valentine.  :-)  

As you can tell I do believe I used all of the theme suggestions.  LOL  

I colored her with Copics and used background papers from my stash.  Flowers and pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I believe the heart die border is from Joy Crafts.   Lace is from JoAnn Crafts.
